Each Participant goes home with:

A party they’ll never forget and
a new skill they’ll remember for life!

  • Ages 6-8 (Kit #1): Make a Beaded Bracelet on stretchy elastic.

  • Ages 9-12 (Kit #2): Make a finished two-strand bracelet on beading wire complete with clasp/chain tab/crimps/jump rings and two-holed spacers.

  • Ages 13 and up (Kit #3):  Make the same bracelet as Ages 9-12 with additional materials to make matching earrings (pierced or clip-ons).

 

Kit #1:  Ages 6-8 ($15.00) (Makes 9 stretch bracelets)

  • Grey-felted Beading Design Board and Instruction Manual
  • Container to hold materials, hand-painted lid that says, “Jewelry Making Kit”
    (Girls personalize the lid in paint pens so they say: (e.g. “Jo Lee’s Jewelry Making Kit”)

  • Kit Contents:

Beaded Bracelet Materials: (Enough to make 9 bracelets)
·        Elastic Powercord ™ – (Purple, Black and Clear) cut to size and ready to string
·        Beads (mixed sizes) – Girls choose beads from my collection and take home three full baggies of spare beads for future projects.

Kit #2: Ages 9-12 ($20.00)* (Makes 8 finished two-strand bracelets)

  • Grey-felted Beading Design Board and Instruction Manual

  • Container to hold materials, hand-painted lid that says, “Jewelry Making Kit”
    (Girls personalize the lid in paint pens so they say: (e.g. “Jo Lee’s Jewelry Making Kit”)

  • Kit Contents:

Two-strand Beaded Bracelet Materials: (Enough to make 8 bracelets)
·        Crimp Beads (16 Gold, 16 Silver)
·        Clasps and Chain Tabs (4 Gold, 4 Silver lobster claw clasps)
·        Beadalon™ Wire (cut to length)
·        Jump Rings (Silver and Gold in various sizes)
·        2-Holed Spacer bars (16 Gold, 16 Silver)
·        Tool: Chain Nosed Pliers – to hold jump rings

 Kit #3: Ages 13 and up ($25.00)* (Makes 8 finished two-strand bracelets as well as 12 pairs of earrings)

  • Includes all of the materials from the Ages 9-12 Kit #2 plus the following:

Earring Materials: (Enough to make 12-pairs of earrings)
·        Head Pins (20 Gold, 20 Silver 2” .028 gauge wire)
·        Clip-on Earrings (3 pair Gold, 3 pair Silver)
·        6-pair Pierced Earrings (Gold-plated/Silver-plated posts, Gold-plated/Silver-plated lever-back ear wires, Gold-plated/Silver-plated French hook ear wires)
·        Rubber Backs for post earrings (4)
·        Tools: Side Wire Clippers for head pins, Round Nosed Pliers
 
This is a fantastic activity for girls (and adults, too!) of all ages.

Please give me at least 1 weeks' notice for your party. I can also give you educational information so participants learn a little extra while making their amazing new designer jewelry. (Examples include: bead history, bead shapes, beads in different cultures, bead making (glass, Fimo, porcelain, crystal, semi-precious), fashion trends, colors and compliments, bead art, wirework, designing beadwork, bead magazines and publication, learning more on your own, etc.

 * For Kit #2 and #3 (for ages 9 and up), participants choose their beads from my entire collection of beads which I bring with me to the party. They can pick a wider variety that way. Kit #1 (ages 6-8) choose three packages from a selection of pre-packed bags of varying colors and sizes.

  1. When are you available?
    (Any time with one week's notice minimum, please.)
  2. Can adults participate too with an "Ages 13 and up" kit even if the party is for younger girls? 
    (Of course!)
  3. Do you do private parties?
    (Yes! I've done private lessons for one, birthday parties, classes, and Girl Scout meetings - it's really flexible.)
  4. Do you teach adults?
    (Of course! They're in a class by themselves. Teaching a group of adults wanna-beaders is a hoot Add Krispy Kremes, some coffee and jazz music and we've got ourselves a great evening!)
  5. Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants for the activity?
    (No, it works well with large and small groups.)
  6. How much do these activities cost?  
    Ages 6-8 Kit #1 = $15/ea. 
    Ages 9-12 Kit #2 = $20/ea.
    Ages 13 and up Kit #3 = $25/ea.

  7. What happens if I have to cancel the party?
    (Let me know as soon as you know you're going to have to cancel or if you have a conflict come up. Call me on my cell phone at (425) 417-9829 ASAP.)
  8. Do I have to pay in advance?
    (I request at least 50% of the total cost in advance. I understand if you have late additions or girls who don't show up to the party. I will certainly allow for those last minute changes. I always bring extra kits.)
  9. Are the girls limited by what colors and bead types they can use?
    (They are only limited by their imagination! I bring all of my beads to the party, and the girls "shop" from my inventory.)
  10. How long have you been doing this?
    (I started doing beadwork, bead stringing, bead weaving, bead design, wire work, wire wrapping, soldering, etc. about 8 years ago. I started my business 1 year ago.)
  11. Where do you buy your beads?
    (I buy them mostly locally at a shop called Beads and Beyond (425) 462-8992. 25 102nd Ave NE: Bellevue, WA 98004 and some bulk items online at http://www.firemountaingems.com. )
  12. How do I learn more?
    (I suggest you get a subscription to beading magazines such as "Bead and Button" "Bead Style" and "Art Jewelry" and take classes at local bead shops such as Beads & Beyond (425) 462-8992. 25 102nd Ave NE: Bellevue, WA 98004. The library is chocked full of information and books on beading, and I also subscribe to About.com's Bead Lessons series.)

    (All of your beads are provided for the party. However, I suggest after you've learned how to make your own jewelry, you can purchase your own beads locally at Beads & Beyond (425) 462-8992. 25 102nd Ave NE: Bellevue, WA 98004 or online if you're buying in bulk amounts at Fire Mountain Gems.
  16. When's your birthday?
    (Me? Oh, you're so nice. Are are you going to buy me a present? I love beads! Okay, that's not really a frequently asked question, but I certainly don't mind sharing the information in case you're out shopping and just looking for something to buy a bead-a-holic! [June 7th by the way!])

My General Health Disclaimer:

I am disabled with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Migraines, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and several other problems which pop up in my life. If I am unable to do a party, I will know at least 3 days in advance of the party if my health if declining. I will, of course, refund your money in total, and you will be eligible to choose a different date or kindly accept the refund, and my grandest apologies.
